About DavidDavid has been a partner at Kottke & Brantz, LLC since 2011. His practice focuses on estate planning, probate and estate/trust administration.
David has received the prestigious AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell from 2023-2025, recognizing that he is part of an elite group of attorneys who have been rated highly by their peers as having Very High Ethical Standards and an A grade (4.5 or higher). As a Boulder native, David has a lifetime of experience living and working along the Front Range. He has strong roots within our community, including work as an adjunct professor for the University of Colorado School of Law and support of many local non-profits. When he is not in the office, David spends most of his time with his wife, Carly, and their two daughters, Samantha and Carina. He also enjoys rooting for his local sports teams and hiking, camping and skiing in the Colorado high country. Community InvolvementDavid currently serves on the Governance & Nominating Committee for The Community Foundation Boulder County (2021–present). David also previously served on the Board of Trustees for Thorne Nature Experience (2019–2024), serving as Board Chair in 2021 and 2024. In addition, he was a member of the Board of Trustees for The Community Foundation Boulder County (2010–2018), serving as Board Chair (2016–2017), and on the Guiding Coalition of the Boulder County Circles Campaign (2012–2016).
